Spidey and Cap Super-Saver Bank!

Apparently this bank had some mechanical elements to it, but I'm not sure what...

Super 8 Filmmaker Magazine Cover!

msh_super8filmmakermag.jpg

I'm not sure what Spidey was doing on the cover of this magazine... but it's kind of neat, isn't it?

Marvel Stamps and Other Stuff!

msh_stamps

Every now and then, when I'm saving photos from eBay auctions to post on my various blogs, I come across a lot like this one -- an FF Lancer paperback, a Marx Toys Hulk statue, and the Marvel Stamp Set from France! This means, of course, that when sorting the photo in Flickr, stuff like this ends up in just about every Marvel folder I have!

Anyway, it's the stamp set we're interested in at this blog! As you can see, Spider-Woman was included in this set, and pretty prominently, too (Spidey's the only Marvel character bigger than her on the box!). I didn't realize just how much merchandising was done of Jessica Drew's alter ego! Obviously, the same can't be said for other distaff variations of Marvel characters like Ms. Marvel and the She-Hulk...

Here's a good look at the Spider-Man stamp in the set:

And other photos of the set:

These photos came from two different auctions, by the way!

Marvel Stamp Album!

msh_stampalbum.jpg

Not the Marvel Value Stamps album, this is a whole 'nother animal! Sometime in the 1970s, this manufacturer got the idea that there was a potential market for collectible stamps that weren't actual postage stamps (maybe they thought comics fans and stamp collectors would want 'em, I don't know). This album, long with several themed packets of stamps were sold -- and there were DC versions, too. Apparently, while the stuff didn't sell that great at the time, they're valued amongst collectors these days -- comic collectors, anyway!

Spidey and Hulk Super Toss Game!

msh_spideyhulksupertoss.jpg

I recall seeing this game originally made as "Toss Across" or something like that... same principle, anyway.

Spidey and Hulk Laser Battle Game!

msh_spideyhulklaserbattle78.jpg

From 1978, this is one seriously bizarre toy concept for Spidey and the Hulk! I'd have more likely gone for a Mr. Fantastic Vs. Dr. Doom version, myself!

Spider-Man and Hulk Book and Cassette!

msh_spideyhulkbookandcasset.JPG

Funny how often Spidey and the Hulk got packaged together, isn't it? I think it's the most common co-packaging of any two Marvel characters!

Hulk and Spider-Man Adventure City!

msh_spideyhulkadv1

msh_spideyhulkadv2

This toy appears to be a variation on the "Marvel World" playset, except it's designed to be packed up when not in use!

Spidey and the Hulk TV Showtime!

msh_spideyhulk_showtime.JPG

This is kind of a weird toy.... looks like a big version of the paper-type "film" rolls of the cheaper "tv viewer" or "cartoon viewers" I've seen of other characters, except that you can color and recolor these!

1974 Pinball Games!

msh_spideycappinball74.jpg

These games were advertised in a lot of comics back in the day! Well, perhaps not these exact ones... Interesting pairing of Cap with Spidey, isn't it?

Spider-Man and Captain America Boat by Gulliver!

msh_spideycapboat_gulliver.jpg

Gulliver was (or perhaps still is) a South American company that produced a whole mess of toys that were at least distributed in Argentina featuring Spidey and other super-heroes!

Spider-Man Hand Puppet!

The head sculpt's pretty decent, but boy did they scrimp on the body, eh?

Comments...

...are read by me, and typically responded to within 24 hours. If someone does post a comment that I consider inappropriate or not related to this blog, it will be deleted.

Recently, someone had left a comment claiming that I stole photos from their site. I don't know why they made this claim, as I've been pretty open about the fact that my photos on all my blogs have come from eBay auctions.

What makes this claim particularly specious is that all the photos on that person's site have a watermark that isn't on the photos they specifically complained about. I may be good at Photoshop, but I'm not so good I can remove a watermark that big and restore the image that it was over!

If anybody wants to claim they have ownership over a photo of mine, they can leave a comment saying so -- and provide some proof about it, too (like, say, providing the direct link to where on their website the photo was supposedly "stolen" from).

Spider-Woman Ring!

msh_spiderwomanring.JPG

Yeah, we're in for a few days of Spider-Woman merchandise, but I'm sure you won't mind, will you? This is a better look at one of the rings I showed you a few days back!
